December, 2024 | The Delta Hospital Auxiliary Society (DHAS) is excited to share that we were selected as the charity recipient of a $1,000 donation from the Festival of Trees Toy & Food Drive 2024, hosted by Cascades Casino Delta.
This wonderful donation came thanks to a creative tree decorating contest held among Casino staff. Each department decorated a tree and selected a charity to support. The tree with the most votes from patrons would earn a $1,000 donation for their chosen organization.
Marlene Storey (pictured), Assistant Unit Coordinator at the DHAS Thrift Shop, shared some delightful context: “My son-in-law works at the Casino, and his department’s tree won!” The Cage Team, which includes Marlene’s son-in-law, selected DHAS as the charitable recipient of the prize money.
We are incredibly grateful to Cascades Casino Delta, the Cage Team, and DeltAssist for making their positive impact on DHAS and the community.
