April 29, 2026 | The Delta Hospital Auxiliary Society (DHAS) has been proudly supporting the Delta Hospital Campus of Care since 1969. To date, DHAS has donated nearly $20 million to support patient care and comfort. Our funds are generated through our three businesses: the Courtyard Café, the Dogwood Gift Shop and the Thrift Shop in Ladner Village.
The DHAS Board of Directors has focused recent work on the Thrift Shop, renovating and upgrading the building; developing policies that establish a respectful and safe environment; and creating a health and safety committee.
The Thrift Shop has been closed for a number of days, as the Board became aware of a workplace culture that does not align with our Society values of respect, inclusion, and professionalism.
In addressing these concerns, the Board will re-establish a safe and supportive environment for our dedicated and valued volunteers and for the Delta community. It is the Board’s goal to re-open the Thrift Shop as soon as possible.
“I recognize this has been a difficult time for our wonderful volunteers and the community that has always been so supportive,” says DHAS President Maureen Mooney. “However, it is our responsibility to ensure we are providing a safe and respectful environment for all who contribute to the Thrift Shop’s success.”
DHAS remains focused on its mission: supporting patient care and comfort at the Delta Hospital Campus of Care.
