April 30, 2026 | I recognize that the temporary pause in operations at our Thrift Shop has been unsettling for some of our volunteers and members of the community. Our volunteers are the heart of the Delta Hospital Auxiliary Society, and we value every individual who contributes their time and care to our shared mission.
The Board of Directors has a responsibility to ensure a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment for all volunteers. Upon learning about the challenging culture within the Thrift Shop, the Board made the difficult but necessary decision to pause operations while we address these matters thoughtfully and thoroughly. No volunteers have been removed from the Auxiliary. We remain deeply grateful for the many volunteers—some with decades of service—who support patient care and comfort at the Delta Hospital Campus of Care.
The Thrift Shop closure is temporary, and our goal is to reopen as soon as. We are committed to moving forward in a way that reflects our values, respects our volunteers, and strengthens our organization for the future.
