May 10th: Celebrating Healthcare Auxiliaries Day in BC

Katy Ellsworth

The Delta Hospital Auxiliary Society is thrilled to join our fellow healthcare auxiliaries across British Columbia in celebrating the Healthcare Auxiliaries Day on May 10th. This special day serves as a testament to the invaluable contributions made by healthcare auxiliaries throughout our province, including our dedicated team here at DHAS.

We are proud to be part of the larger network under the BC Association of Healthcare Auxiliaries. This connection allows us to collaborate, share resources, and amplify our impact in supporting the healthcare needs of our community. Together, we embody the spirit of compassion and service, striving to enhance the well-being of patients and their families in our communities.

At Delta Hospital Auxiliary Society, our mission is clear: supporting patient care and comfort at the Delta Hospital. Through our diverse range of initiatives and businesses, including our Thrift Shop, Gift Shop, Courtyard Café, and Lifeline, we are steadfast in our commitment to enhancing the well-being of patients and their families.

As we commemorate Healthcare Auxiliaries Day, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting our local Delta Hospital.  Through our fundraising efforts, volunteer programs, and community outreach efforts, we strive to provide funds for vital equipment and to enrich patient care experiences. Whether it’s the funds generated by our businesses or the heartwarming support of our volunteers in initiatives such as Pillow Pals, every contribution, big or small, creates a tangible impact on the lives of those we serve.

Today, we extend our deepest gratitude to our volunteers, supporters, and healthcare professionals who work tirelessly to make a positive difference in our community. Together, let us continue to uphold the values of compassion, dedication, and service that define our role as healthcare auxiliaries.
