May 22, 2o25 | The Delta Hospital Auxiliary Society (DHAS) is pleased to confirm its donation of $800k to the Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation (DHCH Foundation). The funds, which were raised through the DHAS’s three businesses, will be used to enhance patient care through the purchase of priority medical equipment.

This year’s donation is slated to fund a new Ophthalmic Surgical Microscopy System. With Delta Hospital performing over 1000 cataract surgeries each year, up-to-date equipment is essential to ensure patients receive the most effective care possible. The new ophthalmic microscope will allow surgeons to have enhanced visualization of eye structures, increasing the precision of surgical procedures.

DHAS President Maureen Mooney says, “I am incredibly grateful to our wonderful volunteers, whose many hours of hard work made this donation possible. Their dedication and vision for a better hospital and a healthier Delta are the key drivers of the Auxiliary’s success. And when the Auxiliary succeeds, all of Delta benefits.”

In 2024, DHAS’s 300 volunteers donated nearly 60,000 hours of time to the Auxiliary’s three business: the Dogwood Gift Shop, the Courtyard Café, and the Thrift Shop located in Ladner Village. Learn more about our impact.
