Partnership with the BCAHA

The Delta Hospital Auxiliary Society is proud to be a part of the rich legacy and impactful work facilitated by the BC Association of Healthcare Auxiliaries (BCAHA). Established in 1945, the BCAHA serves as a beacon of support and guidance for auxiliary societies across British Columbia, emphasizing education, leadership, effective communication, and high standards of performance as cornerstones of success.

As an active member of the BCAHA, the Delta Hospital Auxiliary Society benefits immensely from the collective strength and resources provided by this esteemed organization. With over 5,000 adult volunteers and 101 youth volunteers representing member auxiliaries, the BCAHA harnesses the power of community engagement, dedication, and compassion to enhance healthcare experiences at the local level.

In 2022 alone, member auxiliaries devoted an astounding 890,163.25 volunteer hours, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to service and philanthropy. Through their combined efforts, over $4.6 million was donated to purchase essential healthcare equipment and improve patient care and comfort—a testament to the profound impact of collaborative action.

The BCAHA’s commitment to keeping members informed and connected is exemplified through various channels, including a comprehensive website, regular newsletters, and face-to-face interactions at local and provincial meetings. By promoting best practices, facilitating networking opportunities, and offering educational resources, the BCAHA empowers member auxiliaries like ours to thrive in our mission of supporting patient care and comfort.

Furthermore, the BCAHA’s advocacy efforts, patronage of BC’s Lieutenant Governor, and dedication to promoting auxiliary events and successes elevate the profile of auxiliaries within the healthcare landscape. Through shared accomplishments, such as the distribution of bursaries and the donation of millions to healthcare, the BCAHA and its member auxiliaries continue to make a tangible difference in the lives of patients and their families across the province.

In essence, our partnership with the BC Association of Healthcare Auxiliaries is not just a collaboration—it’s a catalyst for positive change and meaningful impact in our community and beyond. Together, we uphold the values of compassion, service, and excellence, ensuring that healthcare remains a beacon of hope and healing for all.
