Come join us and be a part of our Auxiliary family, meet new friends, make a difference in your community and help be a part of providing care and comfort for patients at Delta Hospital Campus of Care!
The Volunteer Opportunities are endless, making it easy to find something that is just right for you! Whether you are in need of volunteer hours or wanting to improve your resume, searching for ways to fill your retirement days or are wanting to make a difference in your community – the Auxiliary is the place for you!
We offer flexible hours to suit your schedule – from mornings to afternoons, to evenings and weekends.
Check our our Volunteer Opportunities below to get an idea of what each unit and position looks like.
Volunteers work to promote the Auxiliary’s image within the community of Delta through social media platforms, our website, Delta Optimist ads, and various other marketing strategies. Having knowledge of social media platforms (such as Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok, etc.) will serve you well in this position. If you are someone who loves photography, videography, writing, or advertisement, we have lots of opportunities to grow & use your skills.
Volunteers provide a relaxing and friendly atmosphere to all who visit by greeting every customer with a smile and warm welcome. If you love helping customers and work well in a relaxed business setting, the Gift Shop is a great place for you!
The Lifeline medical alert system serves individuals with disabilities or seniors living independently. Volunteers install equipment and assist clients with their Personal Help Buttons. If you are tech-savvy, have experience in the installation industry, or are a conversational individual, Lifeline would love to have you!
Our volunteers accept donations, sort, price, display and sell gently used items of household, clothing and furniture donated by a generous community. We have a variety of opportunities to lend your skills through knowledge or skills in item appraisal, testing, or pricing. With the thrift store being a fast-paced and revolving environment, there is always room for volunteers to join the team. Each day of the week and time of day has designated teams, as well as teams that work behind the scenes testing, packaging, and storing items (ie. Electrical, Crafts & Notions, Christmas, etc.). There is sure to be a place for you!
NOTE: Volunteers in the Gift Shop (located in the Hospital) will be required to take a short, respectful training course and provide a Criminal Record check as facilitated by the Fraser Health Volunteer Coordinator.
As of April 2023, Hospital Unit Volunteers are under the direction of the Fraser Health Volunteers Manager at Delta Hospital. If this is your area of interest, please go to the Fraser Health Website to see the opportunities available with the Delta Hospital.
